Rooms with a view
‘Nature Park’ Rooms and ‘Panorama’ Lodges
The clean, simple, open architecture of our hotel resonates with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Large glazed areas complement the rooms, lodges and dining area to afford you an unrestricted view of the scenery – which is always glorious whatever the season.
Cuisine
Wurzenberg Cuisine
Styria has many delicacies to offer and we pride ourselves on being able to offer a selection to our guests. We obtain most of our food from small regional farms, and our organic bread is delivered daily from a renowned local baker. Depending on the season, we supplement this with home-grown vegetables and herbs from our own garden.
Since Styria is famous for its vineyards it goes without saying that our wine rack in the Panorama Lounge holds a selection of regional fine wines. Enjoy these while you take in the view! To go with your wine you may like to ask our cook for a ‘Brettljause’ (a traditional plate of local cold cuts) to complement the experience.
Each day our cook is on hand to prepare your breakfast, and can even provide you with a luncheon picnic basket if you wish to explore the natural beauty of the area on foot or by bicycle.
Wine philosophy
Experiencing South Styria
South Styria is characterised by gentle hills, small forests, little farmsteads and lush vineyards. ‘Buschenschenken’, the famous vineyard inns which offer excellent local fare, are plentiful – especially on the South Styrian ‘Wine Trail’. The wine at their tables, tangy Riesling whites and full-bodied Pinot reds, often hails from their own vineyards hugging the nearby slopes.
Many of our guests choose to experience all of this on foot or by bicycle. But if you wish to dine al fresco rather than at a Buschenschenke,
you can always ask our cook to prepare you a picnic basket loaded with local delicacies.
